UK magazine calls Vietnam a top kayaking spot

Việt Nam has been named one of the world’s best places to go sea kayaking by the UK’s Wanderlust magazine.

New Zealand, Mexico’s Baja California, USA’s Alaska, Việt Nam, Fiji, Scotland and the High Arctic are the world’s best places to go sea kayaking, said the magazine.

“Kayaking in Vietnam, you’ll not only witness extraordinary scenery, but gain an intimate insight into the country’s coastal communities – meeting and dealing with local fishermen who will be only too happy to supply you with your evening meal.”

“The premier sea kayaking location in Vietnam (and perhaps the whole of Asia) is Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site peppered with 1,600 islands, many of which have enticing sea caves, tunnels and mangroves. The Mekong Delta, meanwhile, offers easy paddling through myriad channels and a chance to join the ebb and flow of life at floating markets and villages.”

There are some other destinations to paddle Vietnam tour operators recommend:

1. Babe Lake & Nang River: Exploring peaceful river, beautiful lake, daily life, local market…

2. Nha Trang bay kayak: Nha Trang Bay is one of the 29 most beautiful bays in the world with miles of long, beautiful white-sand beaches and warm water, year-round green tropical islands and parks, rivers, typical fishing villages, special culinary characteristics and gorgeous seafood.

3. Dalat: A trip to the Highlands wouldn’t be complete without exploring the beautiful jungles and lakes in the region. Nothing beats the stunning views of mountains and forests from the serenity of Tuyen Lam Lake. Head deep into the jungle on foot and by boat through small rivers tributaries that feed into the lake.
